How to become successful in agribusiness?

This book is intended for people searching the answer to this question.
Indeed, how can we become successful when agriculture features:

  • high risks due to natural factors;
  • high labor intensity and, as a result, lack of appeal for agricultural work;
  • Continued increase of fuel, fertilizer, chemicals, machinery, transportation and labor costs;
  • lack of labor;
  • Soil degradation and deterioration of fertility;
  • Insufficient government support;
  • etc.

НEven the recent trend of agricultural commodity price increases does not relieve the impact of the above-mentioned problems for agribusiness.

The same issues become relevant for more and more people engaged in a farming business. In order to find a solution, many of them, sooner or later start looking for new technologies; paying closer attention to No-till.

Yet, the more they learn about No-till, the more difficult it becomes to make a decision to transition to this technology Some farmers burn their fingers at the onset of applying No-till due to overlooking many aspects of zero tillage. Of course, they achieve no results.

They get disappointed and ask: “Is No-till possible at all?”

Many people refer to No-till as something very complicated. They say one needs to study a lot and prepare a lot in order to be successful with this technology.

In this book I share my personal opinion regarding transition to No-till. I do not want to delve deeply into details and make the issues that a farmer may face even more complicated. I am also not saying that my opinion is the ultimate truth.

I think that transition to No-till does not require any extraordinary efforts. What’s needed is just you being interested. I want to bring your attention to some very important aspects which would make the transitioning process simpler and easier.

Below, I will share both my personal experience of transition to no tillage technology and the experience of many international farmers who have successfully overcome this stage of mastering No-till.

This experience is enough to obtain t results. It will help those making their first steps in No-till or those who just are starting to look into the matter.

Chapter 1 What is No-till? explains the way I became acquainted with no tillage farming. You will learn which problems I faced in my practice and which steps I took to resolve them. More importantly, I will explain the changes, which happened on my farm upon transition to No-till.

In Chapter 2 How to Transition to No-till I will share some advice which will assist with transition in the best possible way. You’ll be able to avoid some frustrating mistakes in the beginning of your journey. In fact, you’ll have an approximate step-by-step plan to obtain results from the onset of your No-till journey.

Chapter 3 Talks on transition of No-till is a collection of the most applicable experience of transition of farmers who I personally met during my mastering of the technology. Interesting is the fact that producers who share their experiences adopted this farming system on different acreages, in different soils and climatic zones, and in different periods. Learning this diverse experience will both inspire you and assist in selecting your own way of solving problems that may arise during the first stages of No-till adoption.

Chapter 4 Advantages of No-till provides arguments convincing international farmers to adopt the technology. Here, I will also tell you about potential difficulties in this endeavor. These will help you in evaluating if this technology is suitable for you and making a final decision where you would like to move in your farming practice.
