In preparation for the Field Day of Regenerative Agriculture in Kyiv region, which will take place on August 23, I visited the fields of Mriya LLC again.
Mykhailo Voitovyk said that the soybeans and corn on his fields had withstood almost a month of heat and were finally waiting for rain. The condition of the plants on the field is encouraging and gives hope for a good harvest.
Interestingly, the rain was localized and not everywhere. Cover crops were sown in several fields after the wheat harvest. But it was on the field where the demo plots of cover crop mixtures from our event partners, SmartCrops and Soufflet Agro Ukraine, were sown, and we have already got good sprouts. Apparently, when you do a good job, even something from above helps:)
It will be very interesting to see what these cover crops will look like in three weeks when we all come together on this field.
We invite everyone interested in preserving and improving their soil to join this event.
