Dnipro.
A city where drought is not just a topic of conversation, but part of everyday reality.
And it was here that we held our second training session, “Drought ≠ Sentence”,
organized by Mykhaylo Draganchuk / No-Tiller
with the support of the Regenerative Agriculture Association of Ukraine.
All presentations went according to plan, and each added an important touch to the overall picture.
I opened the training with a presentation on moisture conservation: regenerative methods against climate challenges — the experience of farmers from different countries.
We took a virtual trip across different continents and countries to see how farmers around the world are adapting to the lack of rainfall and what can be adapted to Ukrainian conditions.
Due to force majeure, Viktor Filatov spoke online, but even in this format, he managed to convey the main point – how cover crops help retain moisture and reduce the risk of drought.
Volodymyr Moklyak presented the results of his many years of research in Poltava region, showed photos from the fields, and even brought live cover plants with him – with soil on their roots that literally breathed.
It was the best demonstration of what living soil looks like in the truest sense of the word.
А фінальна дискусія “Що працює проти посухи на моєму полі?” стала, мабуть, найцікавішою частиною дня.
We wanted to change the very energy of such conversations – and we succeeded.
The hall ceased to be an audience and became the epicenter of discussion.
The people in the room were not “spectators”; they felt like they were part of the conversation.
Even those who usually remain silent suddenly shared their observations.
Some spoke briefly, some emotionally, but all sincerely.
And this lively conversation between the participants became what was most memorable.

It is just another challenge which, as the participants of this event felt,
can be overcome together — by sharing experience, much more easily and effectively.
